The Davao Investment Conference 2023

On July 18 to 19, Ar. Jun Palafox had the opportunity to speak at the Davao ICON 2023: Investments for the Future, a biennial business investment conference in the heart of Davao City. The conference was held at the SMX Convention Center in SM Lanang Premier — with engaging panel discussions, esteemed speakers, networking opportunities, and exhibits planned for the three-day event. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives from the public and social sector from all over the Philippines gathered to exchange ideas and explore new avenues for Davao City's development.

With his talk entitled "Davao 2023: A Spatial Strategy for an Economic Powerhouse,” Ar. Palafox shared about the company's strong participation in Davao City's land development, particularly through the Metro Davao Urban Master Plan and the Davao City Tourism Master Plan. A video presentation of the master plans highlighted the positive opportunities Davao City presents in the urban, transportation, and tourism sector alongside reimagined 3D perspectives of Davao City's Chinatown, coastal areas, city center, and nature parks.

One of the highlights of the conference was the impressive lineup of speakers, led by the Keynote Speaker, Mr. Russel Cohen, the managing director for GRAB Philippines. From seasoned business leaders to up-and-coming entrepreneurs, there were key takeaways for everyone. Furthermore, the conference offered panel discussions on various topics such as the Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), Davao City's land development leaders, and the hotel and tourism promotion and expansion of the manufacturing industry in the city. There were also local and national brand exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in the land development, tourism, and business services.
