A major breakthrough for Philippine academic institutions, Batangas State University (BSU) launched its  Knowledge, Innovation, Science & Technology (KIST) Park on July 20.  As the first KIST Park in the Philippines, the economic zone is envisioned to promote knowledge sharing between locator industries from different fields of science and technology and students and faculty of Batangas State University. As a special economic zone in partnership with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), BSU will be able to help develop world-class, multi-skilled human capital. The KIST Park will serve as a training center for collaboration between the academe, different industries, and government agencies to produce "locally-positioned investment promotion strategies for Batangas and the CALABARZON region."

Palafox Associates’ and Palafox Architecture Group’s services for the KIST Park included its master plan, site development plan, site engineering, and conceptual urban design as well as the architecture and design for the TechnoHub Building, Design Innovation Building, Convention Center, Information Technology Centrum, Data Center, and KIST Hotel.
