Palafox Associates recently succeeded in its bid for the review and update of Zamboanga City’s Land Use Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and its Comprehensive Development Plan. The agreement was signed last 16 December 2015, represented by Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco and Principal Architect-Urban Planner Felino Palafox, Jr. Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde and Managing Partner Karima Palafox stood as witnesses.
The project is envisioned to be the new city center of Panabo, integrating places to live, work, shop, and learn, among others. Since Panabo is known as the “Agri-Industrial gateway of Mindanao to the world,” the master plan carried out by Palafox Associates hinges on agriculture as the focal point for development. Thus, it will strike a balance between the proposed structures and the natural features of the site.
The master plan prepared by Palafox Associates for San Vicente in Palawan, a flagship Tourism Enterprise Zone (TEZ), recently received the approval of both the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).
Part of the celebration is the blessing of the new Carillon Bell Tower, which is one of the features of the on-going redevelopment plan for the Baclaran Church property. With the master development plan and urban design laid out by Palafox Associates in 2013, the Church is expected to enhance some of the existing structures to accommodate more visitors and transform the 2.5-hectare property into a people-centric environment.
