Architect Palafox recognized as Fellow in Real Estate Management

The Philippine Council of Real Estate Educators (PhilCORE), in cooperation with the Philippine chapter of the Fédération Internationale de Administrateurs de Biens et Conseils Immobiliers (FIABCI), unanimously chosen Architect Felino Palafox, Jr. to be a Fellow in Real Estate Management for his significant contribution in the profession.

Conferment was held in conjunction with the 19th FIABCI Asia Pacific Regional Secretariat Summit last 17 April 2015 at the Manila Marriot Hotel, during the FIABCI-Philippines Property and Real Estate Awards Night.

Architect Palafox has practiced architecture and planning for more than four decades and has collaborated with some of the best designers, leaders and developers in the world. He led and managed his firm Palafox Associates in the planning of more than 16 billion square meters of land and the design and architecture of more than 12 million square meters of building floor area in 38 countries. The firm has also received more than 200 awards and recognitions in the past 25 years, most notably as the first Filipino architectural firm included in the Top 500 Architectural Firms in the World of the London-based World Architecture Magazine in 1999, the only Southeast Asian architectural firm included in the list. For 2012, Palafox Associates ranks 89th in the list of the world’s largest practices and Top 8 in Leisure projects. BCI Asia has awarded Palafox Associates BCI Asia’s Market Leader in Architecture in the Philippines since 2005. In 2014, Palafox Associates organized its five architectural studios into Palafox Architecture Group, Inc. 

Architect Palafox has been a recipient of several local and international awards, most notably as Ambassador for Peace from the Inter-religious and International Federation for World Peace given in New York, Outstanding Professional Awardee for 2012 by Superbrands, Most Outstanding Architect given by the City of Manila, a Gusi Peace Prize 2011 Laureate for Architecture with Global Excellence and International Urban Planning, and consistently included in BizNews Asia’s The Best of the Best. He was also the former president of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) and past president of the Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners (PIEP). He is a Fellow of both the Chicago-based Council on Tall Buildings of Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and the United Architects of the Philippines. He is also an international member of organizations like the American Planning Association, American Institute of Architects, Urban Land Institute, and US Green Building Council, among others.

Architect Palafox holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Santo Tomas, a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of the Philippines, and a diploma in Advanced Management Development Program in real estate from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. He has lectured in Harvard University, MIT, and in 18 other countries in Asia, Europe, and North America. His extensive travels allowed him to observe 1,000 cities in 63 countries.
